This 1970 Porsche 911T coupe was purchased new in Los Angeles, California where it remained until the 1980’s when it was sold to a resident of Spokane, Washington. There it remained for approximately five years. The owner then moved to Portland, Oregon, where it resided until July of 2021. This 911 was recently acquired from an enthusiast driver owner who purchased it in 2003.
The 2.2-liter flat-six was rebuilt in 2019 by Heckmann & Theimann of Portland, Oregon, with “E” pistons and cam, for improved performance at a cost of $22,000. The Zenith carburetors were also rebuilt and re-jetted to conform with “E” specifications. The motor rebuild included upgraded heat exchangers, Bursch exhaust, and chain tensioners. Additional work performed previous ownership includes the addition of an MSD ignition, replacement of shocks, brakes, axel assembly, half shafts, torsion bar and bushings, linkage, and rod bushings, fuel pump, oil cooler, clutch and flywheel. A recent service included new batteries, rotor and plugs, and master cylinder.
The 2.2L flat-six originally came mated to a Sportomatic transmission. The transmission was replaced with a five-speed manual 901 transaxle according to the records in 1975. The transmission was re-built in 2005. The 15x6 Fuchs wheels were refinished in 2014 and have brand new Vredestein Sport Classic 185/70R15 tires put on in July of 2021.
The Karmann-built body was painted black in 1977 from it's original Metallic Silver. The car was repainted in black again in 2006. At that time all exterior chrome was either replaced or refurbished, and headlights were upgraded as well. The body has some minor cosmetic chips and wear. A period correct blue/yellow Oregon license plate is included with the sale.
The interior is original and trimmed in black leatherette from the factory. Seats have been upgraded with period correct sport seats from GTS Classics in leatherette basketweave. Seatbelts with shoulder straps have been upgraded as well, and charcoal carpeting is retained throughout with additional new Coco Mats. A form fitted piece of black plastic, in lieu of a radio, is fitted in the dash fascia.
VDO instrumentation includes a central 8k-rpm tachometer and a 150-mph speedometer. The five-digit odometer shows 35,900 miles: 38,000 miles were added by the previous owner since 2003, and approximately 3,900 since the motor rebuild in 2019. The previous owned successfully completed many 1,000 Pacific Northwest PCA, and enthusiast rallies with this car and has it beautifully dialed in.
This LWB 911T is now offered with detailed service records from 1974, a tool roll, car cover, and a clean Florida title. This 911T has been beautifully maintained, upgraded and enjoyed and has been set up so the next owner can jump in and enjoy thousands of wonderful miles ahead.
